OK... PTACK's Picks...  H.T.G. (Hey They're Good)...  PTACK is Mike Ptack... a quirky guy (and I say that in the most musically genuine way possible) who LOVES music and has spent at least the last 10 years working on a personal grass roots music promo program...  watching literally every band on every talk show every day of every week... even those shows shown on Saturday mornings... going to the local record store... and yes... we still have a record store out here... great little place called Kiss The Sky Records, located in Batavia, IL... talking to the owner (Steve... big grey-haired guy with a beard, who loves music almost as much as Mike does), digging through new release bins and talking to nearly anyone who will listen... (OK... drop the "nearly... who will listen")... and if you stop in on the first Saturday of the month you're likely to find Ptack there, handing out his latest compilation CD... and it's not "his" music, but rather they are Mike's compilations of songs from nearly anyone under the sun...  and other than the month of February (always Love song month) you'll never know what he's compiled for your listening pleasure...  whether it be new or old, classic or classical, country,  blues or just off the wall... they ALWAYS bring back a memory or two or open your eyes to some really great new stuff...  He's turned us on to brilliant bands and artists such as Air Born Toxic Event (Around Midnight is a must have in EVERY song collection) and Courtney Barnett's Elevator Operator...  songs with lyrics that tell stories...  paint pictures... and have meaning...  Click on the boxes below for a list of the monthly compilations and links to more information on each band... along with my personal editorials as fitting (or as time allows)
